Fun in the Rain!

When you can't beat 'em...It has been raining for like a million days! Well, that's what it feels like. It certainly does not feel like summer AT ALL!! It has seriously been raining for the entire month of June, at least! We've maybe had a day or two here and there where it is nice for a bit, but it never lasts. Anyway, we decided to play in the rain today. I got some shots of the boys in their rain gear...anything to wear those boots!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all you dads! Kristian really enjoyed his Father's Day. I let him sleep in and got him McDonald's breakfast...he loves sausage biscuits! Then he opened his gifts. At school, the boys had made him a foam handprint to hang on the rear view mirror of his car(s). He also got an Eddie Bauer Bocce Ball Set. He's been wanting it for years. Although it was rainy, we were able to play an indoor version with the boys...I think the boys enjoyed it more than he did ;0) We all went to Chunky's Cinema Pub and saw Pixar's new movie "Up". We had a little lunch while we watched the movie. The boys loved it! I thought the movie was pretty good, but it was actually kinda sad...I mean really, is there ever an appropriate place for a miscarriage in a children's movie!? Luckily it was over the kids' heads, but come on! Anyway, we came home and just lounged around. We actually all fell asleep on the couch...Kristian's dream every weekend...just to have a family nap time. I can never fall asleep and Ryan never does. We didn't even plan it, it just happened. Anyway, we had a great day and Kristian is a great father, so he really deserved it.

Camping at the Beach

Jamie and I took the kids to Salisbury Beach for the weekend. It was the first time just she and I took the trailer. We did great! Well, I should say, she did great...I just stood there and watched while she did the poop pump. The weather forecasted rain and thunderstorms and we were prepared for the worst. I packed rain gear figuring the kids would just play in the rain all day especially since the sky was dark and cloudy. As soon as we hit the campground, the sun broke through the clouds and the entire weekend was perfect! Thanks to Preston's magical song...he sang, "Mr. Sun" and it worked because the sun shone down on us the entire time!

Our kids love the beach and we pretty much spent the whole day there. The kids found a crab who was actually pregnant. I kinda felt bad for it, but it was really cool for them to get to see a real live crab! When we got back to camp, we had dinner and some s'mores. We just had a really great time and are trying to think of the next time and place we can go now that we know we can hack it on our own.

Phish

Well, we went to our first set of shows since Coventry. We started at Fenway in Boston. It was rainy and the weather just was not looking good. Phish came out and I am not even kidding you, as soon as they started playing, the rain stopped and a rainbow (actually there were two rainbows-one on each side of the stadium...when does that happen!?). I knew then that it was going to be a great tour. I know it sounds cheezy, but it was so symbolic for me and Phish has been and always will be a huge part of my life. For my first show back to start out like that, was just beautiful. So from there, we hit 4 other shows ending back in MA.

See, I was telling the truth! ;0)
